Veterans Day Sea Turtle Walk and Beach Cleanup

Atlantic Marine Conservation Society Welcomes all veterans and their families to help save cold stunned sea turtles of New York. We invite volunteers and the public to Hallock State Park Preserve for a focused presentation on cold stunned sea turtles followed by a monitoring/cleanup through the wracks of the beach. We will also be taking a moment to honor all veterans.

We will ask individuals who come if they came with a veteran or have a deceased veteran they would like to honor. We will then read our these individual names.

Complimentary donuts and refreshments will be served!

Sea Turtle Seminar and Volunteer Program (Brookhaven)

Help save the life of a sea turtle. It’s a walk on the beach!

AMCS will conduct a workshop about marine conservation and the importance of saving cold stunned sea turtles. As the water temperature decreases, these cold-blooded animals freeze up and could use a helping hand for survival. There will be a volunteer signup at the workshops.

International Coastal Cleanup - Mattituck

Show your love for our beaches by participating in the world’s largest volunteer effort to create trash-free seas. Group for the East End, Surfrider, and Atlantic Marine Conservation Society are teaming up for International Coastal Cleanup Day at Breakwater Beach in Mattituck!

Today, plastic has been found in 62% of all sea birds and in 100% of sea turtle species. If you would like to lend a helping hand, please contact Christine Tylee at Group for the East End at 631-765-6450 x 208 or ctylee@eastendenvironment.org. 

Bags and gloves are provided. We will meet in the parking lot at the end of Breakwater Road.
